Global Gift Foundation, a charity organisation founded by Eva Longoria and Maria Bravo to help people with cancer, is busy organising a charity golf tournament and grand gala dinner to raise funds for several associated charities. Past successes at the Costa del Sol have clearly convinced the charity's founding members that Estepona and Marbella would make excellent locations for the 4th Global Gift Celebrity Golf Challenge, which will be followed by a gala dinner and concert by Irish crooner Ronan Keating.
Glamorous October Golf Challenge for 2016
In 2016, the golf tournament will be hosted by Estepona Golf Club, using Stableford rules that allow a maximum of 96 golfers, who will be playing 18 holes. Golf challenge, gala dinner and concert will take place at Marbella's Gran Meliá Don Pepe Hotel on 15th October. A number of British celebrities have already confirmed their participation, including singer Alesha Dixon, actress Jodie Kidd and actor Vernon Kay.
Teams of four players can acquire the “Platino Golf Pack” for 300.00 Euros per person, a price that includes 18 holes at Estepona Golf Club and the gala dinner. For 200.00 Euros per person it is possible to skip the golf challenge and attend the dinner alone. Joining just in the golf tournament and skipping the gala dinner costs 140.00 Euros per person. The alternative is to purchase a “VIP Pack” for 1,000.00 Euros, which includes not just the 18 holes – played with a celebrity – but also the gala dinner and concert with Ronan Keating.
Money raised by the event will support the Cudeca Foundation, the Marie Keating Foundation (run by Ronan Keating) and the Global Gift Foundation itself. President and founder of Global Gift Foundation, Maria Bravo, thanked the mayors of Estepona and Marbella, José María García Urbano and José Bernal, for their co-operation at the official presentation. Rory Leader, the owners of Estepona Golf, and Rafael Olaya of Cudeca Foundation were also present at the media event.
Maria Brava joked that Estepona and Marbella had been a natural choice for the charity event, both being part of the “Costa del Golf”. Both mayors expressed their delight at hosting such a prestigious celebrity golf event and the need for local authorities to assist people who needed help the most with such initiatives.
